Welcome! To the hoyt family
Hoyt family and farm
I’ve decided to start blogging maybe even vlogging in our future about our little homestead “farm” we have started to create for ourselves on our small 8 acre lot in rural Vermont. We are no means a farming operation or honestly ever plan on making a living off from farming however our plan is to support our family and help teach our children responsibility and also sustainability. With the pandemic occurring in the world right now it’s is very nice to have a means of making our own food. We are DIY, crafty people and by no means call our selves professionals but I think our past experiences and future endeavors will help people with (not making mistakes we did) and also give some a laugh or too. My name is Jodi I am known as mom to my 3 children all under the age of seven and been married to my husband 6 years this spring. We are young but very eager, hard working Americans. We both grew up on farms only a two away from each other. My husband on a dairy farm and myself on a beef cattle farm. My next blogs will be about our different adventures on the homestead. We have two wild 9 month old miniature Hereford bulls that are in middle of being trained to be a steer team. These two escaped months ago and roamed our home town for 3 months time living in the woods. Another long adventurous story that I will probably write up at another time if anyone shows interest. We are in process of building a post and beam barn and also to throw in the mix my husband is building a tree house for the kids this spring (this should be interesting). We also are in mid adventure of starting some of our garden plants and my project is building a sunflower house this year. It might be simple life to most but it definitely keeps us busy! So if you want a giggle or just something to take your mind of your own stress give us a read maybe we might help someone along the way.
